Countdown

Three days.

I just had a heart attack.

I'm leaving on a jet plane in THREE DAYS. Maybe I should go finish packing.

I've been putting off getting a blog set-up because... well, for a lot of reasons. If you know me well, you know that the last year has been really challenging, and that I've been struggling with the motivation and mental clarity needed to write and journal- something that has previously been kind of a lifeline for me. I've just recently found some joy in it again, but now I'm chafing under "expectations."

BECAUSE THIS HAS TO BE SIMPLY THE MOST BRILLIANT THING EVER WRITTEN.

I blame birth order. I'm the first born, perfectionist, highly motivated, type-A kid. It's fine.

If there's one thing that God has been teaching me through preparation for this trip it is that this is NOT ABOUT ME. You people have poured in with financial, emotional, and prayer support, and I have heard story after story about how God has been working in your lives and changing hearts towards our brothers and sisters in Syria. We're building a bridge over the oceans together, and I'm so grateful that you are trusting me to go as your ambassador.

As such, I promise to write as often as possible. I'm making a promise, both to you and to God, to witness and to tell what I hear and see.

I love you all, and I crave your prayers as my teammates and I fly out of our respective airports on Friday.

Chelsie
